Simulation training for diplomats and state employees
At the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine took place a two-day workshop for the MFA staff and other state employees, organized by the Founder of expert platform Seminars Simulations Consulting Europe and the Managing Director of Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (Austria) Sebastian Schäffer.
The seminar participants got acquainted with one of the varieties of modelling approaches, namely, with the simulation method and its application in the field of international relations and diplomacy. The topic of simulation game was chosen with a view to demonstrate the decision-making mechanism within the European institutions.
Thus, the replication of situation in the real time environment with the given conditions allowed the participants not only to apply the professional knowledge on the selected subject practically, but also to acquire new communication skills, which are important for the argumentation of their position during the negotiation process, striking a compromise and effective team interaction.
The training was completed with the expert analysis of the simulation game results and the participants’ evaluation of the performed work.
On behalf of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, we express our sincere gratitude to the partner organization SSC Europe, represented by Sebastian Schäffer for conducting the simulation training and look forward to our successful cooperation in the future.
