Within the framework of the special short-term program “International Cooperation” Hannes Rumm, Estonian journalist and politician, lecturer of Eesti Diplomaatide Kool/Estonian School of Diplomacy delivered his lectures at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.
The topic of the two-day conversation was optimization of cooperation with international partners, conducting negotiations with representatives of different cultures and carriers of different personality types. During the lectures, Hannes Rumm emphasized the problems of interaction with European states. After all, understanding the peculiarities of communication with representatives of other European countries is very important for Ukraine in the process of European integration.
It is important for Ukraine to reach out to the general public of the European states to convince them that Ukraine’s accession will be beneficial for them”.
Before starting negotiations, please bear in mind that there are high-context, low-context cultures as well as middle ones, and when it comes to personal methodology, there are individuals of dominance, influence, steadiness and compliance. Try to adapt your communications style accordingly to avoid misunderstandings and to achieve technical results that you expect”.
