The Diplomatic Academy has launched an introductory seminar of the project “The European Way of Ukraine “, the main goal of which is the systematical training of Ukrainian diplomats and civil servants in the field of European integration. The project was opened by Hennadii Nadolenko, Director of the Diplomatic Academy, and Ekke Nomm, Director of the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
The speakers of the first day were Oleksandr Ilkov, Director General of the Government Office for Coordination on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Valeriy Kravchenko, Head of the Department of Analytical Support and Interaction with the Expert Community at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Ekke Nomm, Director of Eesti Diplomaatide Kool/ Estonian School of Diplomacy:
We all understand that the European Union is not the only matter of economy. When Estonia joined the EU, it was also a soft security issue. In Ukraine today, there is also a very heavy security issue. We designed this course to give you ideas and may be exactly support in what you have to go through. In Estonia, in Sweden, your country has a great political support, but it does not mean that you don’t need to do your homework. You have to work very hard.
The event was organized by DAU in cooperation with the Estonian School of Diplomacy and Svenska institutet within the framework of the #TrilateralDiplomaticInitiative project.
