PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

In 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine provided professional training for diplomatic service officials and improved the professional competence of civil servants in the field of foreign relations in accordance with the plans and schedules approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Within the framework of the state order, 600 diplomatic service officials underwent professional training under specialized programs aimed at developing practical skills in diplomatic activities, in particular in the field of international negotiations, strategic communications, public diplomacy, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, economic and consular diplomacy.

The Academy also ensured the improvement of professional competence of 1,770 civil servants of central and local executive authorities, of whom 800 underwent training at the expense of the state budget. The training programs focused on the current challenges of Ukraine's foreign policy in the context of war and the European integration process.

During the year, 31 training events were held in face-to-face, online, and distance formats using the Academy Online platform. A total of 103 Ukrainian and foreign lecturers were involved in teaching, including specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, representatives of other state authorities, leading scientists, and industry experts from the EU, the UK, and Switzerland.

More than 55% of training events in 2025 were conducted in English, which contributed to improving the professional and language competence of students and strengthening the Academy's integration into the European educational space.

The Academy Online digital platform was actively used for distance learning: 260 Ukrainian diplomats were trained on it during the year. In 2025, key online courses were updated and six new programs were added, developed jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Academy's partners.

Thanks to a flexible combination of face-to-face and distance learning, the Academy provided training to more than 2,300 people.

LANGUAGE TRAINING

In 2025, language training at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine was aimed at developing and assessing the foreign language communication skills of diplomatic service employees in accordance with CEFR standards (A1–C1).

During the year, 400 employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine underwent language training. The Academy provided instruction in 12 foreign languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Italian, Serbian, Croatian, Czech, and Slovak.

During the year, 60 language groups were formed (29 in the first half of the year and 31 in the second). Language certification was an important component: 69 interviews in 15 foreign languages were conducted, and 543 candidates were assessed for their level of foreign language proficiency. In total, the testing covered 22 foreign languages.

In October 2025, the implementation of a joint project between the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and the American Councils for International Education was completed. Within the framework of the project (2023–2025), 546 people underwent training in three professionally oriented programs.

INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL COOPERATION

In 2025, the Academy continued to expand its network of partnerships. Four new cooperation agreements were signed with national institutions. As of the end of the year, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine had 99 international and 68 national partners.

In cooperation with the Estonian School of Diplomacy, the Trilateral Diplomatic Initiative project was implemented: in April, an international leadership meeting of heads of diplomatic educational institutions of the Black Sea region on public diplomacy was held in Bucharest, and six Ukrainian students received scholarships to study in Tallinn.

Consultations were also held with the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the College of Europe (Natolin), and a series of public and cultural diplomacy events were held in cooperation with international partners.

PUBLIC IMAGE ACTIVITIES

To strengthen public communication, a Public Diplomacy Center was established within the structure of the DAU. In 2025, the Academy, together with its partners, organized 43 educational, expert, cultural, and public events, which brought together more than 5,000 participants.

In November 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine launched a new scientific journal, Academia Diplomatica UA.

In 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine celebrated 30 years of activity, summarizing the results of its professional, educational, and public communication work. The anniversary year provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and outline the prospects for the further development of the Academy within the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
