Today, May 14, a specialized professional training course for diplomatic officers, who will soon begin their assignments in Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad in the political track as part of the planned rotation, was successfully completed at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.

Throughout the course, leading Ukrainian and international experts, diplomatic practitioners, and specialists in strategic communications, security, and international negotiations provided comprehensive insights into current issues related to the effective work of diplomats in the countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America.

The participants acquired modern knowledge and practical skills essential for effectively representing Ukraine’s interests abroad, strengthening international support for Ukraine, and responding appropriately to current international security challenges.

The final training module covered the following important topics:

— Specific features of intelligence and subversive activities conducted by russian special services targeting personnel of Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad;

— Countering disinformation;

— Media communication;

— International negotiations.

The participants also benefited from the professional expertise and practical experience shared by:

— Bohdan Morozov-Storozhenko – Senior Analyst at the Department for Countering Information Threats to National Security of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine;

— Robert Weibel –  CEO of the Centre for Experiential Negotiation and Applied Diplomacy (CENAD);

— Lina Zelenska – TV presenter, journalist.

At the conclusion of the course, participants were ceremonially awarded certificates confirming the successful completion of the training program, the acquisition of modern professional competencies, and their readiness to perform responsible duties within Ukraine’s diplomatic service.

The organization of such training programs is an important component of the systematic preparation of Ukrainian diplomats, aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of Ukraine’s diplomatic service, enhancing professional skills, and ensuring the effective protection of Ukraine’s national interests in the international arena.
