A special meeting took place at the Language Training Centre of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine: the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Ukraine, Ms Anica Džamić, visited a Croatian language class.
The Ambassador thanked the Academy's students and teacher Lesya Steblina for their sincere interest in the Croatian language and culture, outlined the key areas of cooperation between the two countries, and spoke about the support provided to Ukraine by the friendly Croatian people during the war, in particular the assistance given to Ukrainians who found refuge in Croatia.
In her speech, the diplomat emphasised the similarity in the mentality of the two peoples and their shared historical, cultural and linguistic ties. H.E. Anica Džamić also emphasised Croatia's unwavering support for Ukraine and expressed her personal solidarity with Ukrainians, as she has been in Kyiv since the start of the full-scale invasion, sharing the most difficult trials with the Ukrainian people.
Responding to questions from the audience about Croatia's wartime and post-war experience, the Ambassador spoke about the stages of Croatia's independence, military operations and the reintegration of certain regions, the experience of reconstruction, accession to the EU and NATO, achievements and current challenges for the country.
At the end of the meeting, H.E. Anica Džamić wished the audience fruitful and inspired work and successful studies, congratulated them on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, and expressed her confidence in the further strengthening of friendly relations between Ukraine and Croatia.
