The special short-term program “International cooperation” for employees of state authorities in the field of foreign affairs was launched at DAU

During the first week of training, the focus was on the tasks of international cooperation in the conditions of war. The main topics were European integration and reconstruction of Ukraine’s economy.

Lectures for the participants of the program were conducted by Advisor of the Center for Economic Recovery, Expert on European integration Ivan Nagornyak, Chief of Section for International Financial Research of the Public Finance Department of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Olena Borzenko.

The participants also received thorough instructions on preparation and conducting negotiations from President at Professional Negotiators Club Oleg Demchyk.

Ivan Nagornyak, Advisor of the Center for Economic Recovery, Expert on European integration:

In 2022, it was necessary to completely change our matrix of relations with the European Union: to move from issues of partnership to issues of membership. Thanks to diplomatic efforts and the active work of the government, we managed to fulfill the requirements and obtain EU membership candidate status. From this moment, a completely different story begins – the story of Ukraine’s presence on the platform of Enlargement Policy.

Olena Borzenko, Chief of Section for International Financial Research of the Public Finance Department of the State Institution “Institute for Economics and Forecasting of NAS”:

The success of the implementation of scenarios of the development of events in Ukraine will depend not only on the effectiveness of the Armed Forces actions, but also on changes in the field of economics. Significant efforts and programs for the reconstruction of the country will be timely and effective, if from the very beginning they are oriented not only to recovery, but also to the restructuring of the economy.

Oleg Demchyk, President at Professional Negotiators Club:

When we can work out an alternative that suits us completely, and convince the interlocutor that he has no alternatives, then we will be able to say that we are ready for negotiations. A satisfactory alternative makes the negotiator invincible.
