The winners of the All-Ukrainian Selection of Official Wine Ambassadors of Ukraine 2024 were awarded at DAU

The selection of the official wine ambassadors of Ukraine is not only a quality competition, but also a recognition of the achievements of Ukrainian winemakers who preserve traditions and develop winemaking even in difficult times of war. The event, which took place in the last days of summer, brought together representatives of more than 70 best Ukrainian wines, 21 of which were selected as the best.

Volodymyr Kucherenko, General Director of Ukrvinprom Corporation:

‘We congratulate not just the winners of the selection, but the keepers and creators of our winemaking tradition, which is inextricably linked to the culture and history of our people. This selection demonstrates that Ukrainian wine takes its rightful place among the world’s best wines.’

During the award ceremony, Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky and Volodymyr Kucherenko solemnly cancelled the limited-edition postage stamps dedicated to the wine culture of Ukraine. Another significant event was the official registration of the “Wine of Ukraine” brand, which was the result of 5 years of work by representatives of the Ukrainian wine industry.

The wine ambassadors were supported by Oleksandr Bankov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and Olena Orliuk, Director of the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations.

Hennadii Nadolenko, Director of DAU:

‘Our wines have long been symbols of cultural identity, resilience of the Ukrainian people and the richness of the Ukrainian land. And now they are becoming an important part of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy.’
