Hennadii Nadolenko, Director of DAU:
One of the cornerstones of our initiative is to promote the expansion of the rights and opportunities of women in the diplomatic service of Ukraine. In the context of the ongoing russian aggression against Ukraine, female leadership is undoubtedly not just an advantage, but an absolute necessity.
Frank Borchers, Chief of Division for Peace Office in Bonn, UNITAR:
The kick off this programme marks another important step in this fruitful partnership founded in a mutual desire to provide diplomats the opportunity for personal and professional growth and equip them with the skills to navigate and adapt to the ever-evolving daily reality working in the diplomatic corps.
Maksym Yemelianov, Minister-Counsellor, Embassy of Ukraine in Germany:
The ideas of feminism in foreign policy should be understood not only as equal opportunities for women and men, but also as a struggle against systemic inequality, unfar distribution of power and any discrimination.
Olga Nikitchenko, Head of the Patronage Service Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
This is a very important training for the implementation of the policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the feminization of diplomacy. Achieving gender equality and eradicating discrimination are among the priorities of Minister Kuleba. And this program is a very useful tool for achieving our goals.
Evgeniya Yemshenetska, Project Manager for expert diplomacy and partnership development:
I am sincerely glad that women’s leadership trainings are becoming a tradition. This program was developed specifically for Ukrainian women diplomats, taking into account the important psychological and professional nuances that accompany work in the diplomatic service now, during the war. We worked a lot on this project. And I am glad that we have launched educational cooperation.
The training was organized by DAU together with UNITAR in the framework of the implementation of the Strategy for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities of Women and Men in the system of bodies of the diplomatic service of Ukraine.
