The Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) has been a reliable partner of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine for almost 20 years. Over the past 5 years, the Academy, in partnership with the Estonian School of Diplomacy, has held 25 training events attended by more than 400 diplomats and civil servants.
On October 18-19, we had the pleasure to host the delegations from ESD, headed by Director Mr. Ekke Nõmm. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects and ways to implement the Academy-based professional training of civil servants, Ukraine & EaP countries diplomats within the framework of the trilateral capacity building project.
Together with the Estonian School of Diplomacy, we are starting a new project, which for the first time in the history of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine will focus on professional training not only for Ukrainian diplomats but also for colleagues from the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea region.
This project is a follow-up to ESD’s 10-year engagement with the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine. The new approach of this particular project means that in addition to Ukrainian diplomats we shall also focus on building the capacity of civil servants of Ukraine’s regional administrations who will be trained on topics as European/Euroatlantic integration, development of cross-border cooperation, digitalization of public services, information security and countering cyber threats in the course of hybrid warfare.
