Throughout July 2026, Ambassador Ihor Ostash, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, and Kateryna Sydorenko, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, participated in a series of working meetings with representatives of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna/Diplomatische Akademie Wien and the University of Innsbruck/ Universität Innsbruck (Austria). The parties identified promising areas for academic and cultural partnership.

One of the key topics was involving professors from Austrian institutions in teaching within the DAU’s Master’s program. Special attention was paid to the expertise of the "Digital International Affairs" program, which is jointly implemented by the University of Innsbruck and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

Ambassador Martin Eichtinger, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, invited members of the DAU faculty to deliver lectures during the fall semester of 2026 as part of the "Current Issues" lecture series. This initiative opens up an opportunity to present the Ukrainian perspective on contemporary international processes to the Academy's Master's students.

During the conversation with Professor Martin Senn, Director of the Foreign Policy Lab at the University of Innsbruck, the parties discussed delivering lectures and training modules on digital diplomacy and the digitalization of international relations for Master's students at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.

Cultural diplomacy was identified as a dedicated area of cooperation. The parties explored the possibility of holding a joint event dedicated to Bohdan Vesolovskyi—an Ukrainian composer and alumnus of the Consular Academy of Vienna, whose legacy links the cultural and diplomatic history of Ukraine and Austria.

This initiated dialogue establishes the foundation for systematic cooperation, academic exchanges, and joint educational initiatives aimed at advancing modern diplomatic education and strengthening the DAU's international ties.
