On September 12, 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine hosted a roundtable discussion on “Scenarios of Russia’s War in Ukraine in 2025–2026”, organized jointly with the Kyiv office of the think tank GLOBSEC and the Lithuanian Center for Geopolitical and Security Studies.
The discussion presented the study “Seven Security Scenarios around Russia’s War in Ukraine: Implications and Policy Recommendations for Western Partners”, delivered by Yuliya Osmolovska, Head of the GLOBSEC Kyiv Office.
Participants in the expert debate included Liubov Nepop, Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Audronius Ažubalis, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania; Robert Seely, British politician and author of the book “The New Total War”; Members of the Ukrainian Parliament; and prominent Ukrainian experts in foreign policy, defense, security, and diplomacy.
The participants agreed that discussing possible scenarios helps to better understand potential trajectories of the war, identify key factors influencing its course, and assess the implications for Ukraine and the international community.
