On 20–21 January, a two-day online seminar entitled “Protocol and Etiquette” was held at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.
The programme was targeted at representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and central executive authorities.
The lecture for the course participants was delivered by Riina Aasma, Head of the Protocol Service of the Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia and an expert in diplomatic protocol and etiquette.
Over the two days of training, participants were introduced to the key principles of diplomatic protocol and etiquette, including issues related to official visits and ceremonies, order of precedence, forms of address, dress code, the organisation of receptions, as well as the specifics of intercultural communication. Particular attention was paid to the practical application of protocol norms and the role of protocol in the professional activities of civil servants.
The event was held within the framework of cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and the Estonian School of Diplomacy, with the support of the Estonian Centre for International Development.
