On April 16, a meeting took place at the Diplomatic Academy between Director Ihor Ostash and the Ambassador of Montenegro, Borjanka Simićević.
The Ambassador extended an invitation to Ukrainian diplomats to participate in the 19th Gavro Vuković Summer School for Young Diplomats, which will take place from June 21 to 26 this year in Montenegro. This year’s global forum, “Next Generation Leaders in Foreign Affairs and Security,” will focus on the role and importance of diplomacy in overcoming contemporary challenges, preserving peace, and strengthening international security, as well as exploring new models of cooperation on the international stage.
Ihor Ostash and Borjanka Simićević agreed on a number of joint projects, including the possibility of inviting Montenegrin lecturers to teach maritime law and Balkan studies in the master’s program at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, which is scheduled to open in the next academic year. The parties also discussed the possibility of involving Montenegrin high-ranking officials responsible for the EU accession negotiation process in training events at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, aimed at enhancing the professional skills of Ukrainian diplomats and civil servants in the field of European integration.
Ihor Ostash also expressed gratitude to Borjanka Simićević for the support and the assistance Montenegro has provided to Ukraine during the war.
