On January 15, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine hosted a briefing for foreign diplomats and defense attachés from NATO embassies, organized jointly with the Kyiv office of GLOBSEC.
Igor Ostash, Director of the Academy, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression and joint efforts with European partners to counter modern security challenges.
During the briefing, Yulia Osmolovska, Director of the Kyiv Office of GLOBSEC, presented scenarios for the development of the Russian war in Ukraine in 2026 based on the results of an assessment conducted with the participation of more than 60 security and defense experts, military experts, and diplomats. In addition, Volodymyr Vlasiuk, Director of the State Enterprise “Ukrzovnishexpertiza” and Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Modernization of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented an analytical review of the real state of the Russian economy and possible scenarios for its development in connection with military spending and sanctions, based on a recent study conducted by them in cooperation with experts from the London School of Economics.
The event was a continuation of the fruitful partnership between the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and GLOBSEC, aimed at forming a common European-Ukrainian vision of the future security system based on international law, sustainability, and shared values.
