On 7 May, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine Ihor Ostash, First Deputy Director Iryna Ivashchuk, and Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Kateryna Sydorenko met with Viktoriia Ulyhanets, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Director of the African Studies Center at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU), and Research Fellow at the V.M. Koretskyi Institute of State and Law.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the specifics of the formation and development of African studies in Ukraine, as well as current issues in international relations with African states, particularly those in East Africa. Special attention was paid to the importance of deepening expert dialogue on political, legal, and institutional processes on the African continent, which is a key focus of contemporary diplomatic education.
At the end of the meeting, Viktoriia Ulyhanets presented the Diplomatic Academy’s library with her book “The Judicial System of the African Union,” which will serve as a valuable addition to the institution’s academic resources.
